ANNEX
It's been some time since we've had enough new happenings to write a newsletter. Time has flown, progress has been made and now with good weather in sight the word is GO!

The Country Store is all closed in and with many thanks to Nason's Delivery we were able to return their trailer that we had stored our lumber in. This is the same lumber that was given to us by ROHD for tearing down the old sheds at "Pops". Another big thanks to those Gentlemen. Plus, a big thank you to the volunteers that helped us with all these jobs! Bob and Dave are organizing the work schedule and things are about to happen. If you are offered anything that would fit in our Country Store, don't turn it down! Not let it be said we're proud.

NEW MEMBERS
We welcome all our new members. It's great to get more people that are interested in our Society

LOG CABIN
You're probably all have seen the replica of Christopher Stone's log cabin that's now standing on the Muhlbower property on Buffalo Street. This is where Christopher actually lived as the first settler of Springville in 1807.

We have John Baronich and BOCES students to thank for all of this. John was the Principal at Ellicottville when he conceived the idea of building the cabin. He is now the Principal of our Middle School. Welcome to Springville John you're home in more ways than one.

We also thank Tom Geelan for making a video of the students at Ellicottville actually building the cabin.

We plan to follow up the cabin with Christopher and his early settler Friends in the Dairy Fest Parade and perhaps with some Fiddlers in Fiddler's Green Park this summer.

LEE LUSS RESIGNS
We accepted with regret Lee Luss' resignation as Secretary but welcome Lynn Reynolds who is the "new kid on the block" taking over for Lee. Lee is going to stay on as Assistant Curator.

MUSEUM VISITS
As usual, we will be entertaining the 4th Graders in June and will have open house at the Museum for the Dairy Festival. We will also have a display at the Fair in Hamburg. Volunteers are always needed. Grace Gentner will welcome your call if you have any free time.

GET WELL WISHES
We wish a speedy recovery to two of our members. Wes Chandler and Paul Chapman.

QUILT DISPLAY
John Baronich presented a program at our May meeting about the Quilt involved with the Underground Railroad that he done research on and also made all the quilt himself. It was very interesting and thought provoking. If you remember, Springville was involved with the Underground Railroad.

"GREAT RACE"
Our theme for the fair this year is the "The Great Race" of 1908. George Schuster of Springville was one of the drivers. The "Great Race" Committee has been working diligently on all of this so we can look forward to great happenings in July of 2008

The tentative Schedule for the rest of the year is as follows:

June 2 Dairy Festival
June 13 & 14 Fourth Graders visit Museum
July 11... ..Business Meeting
Aug Go to the Fair
Sept To Be Scheduled
Oct 19 Greg Kinal
