2010 Meeting Schedule
(All meetings at Lucy Bensley Library, 23 N. Buffalo Street, unless otherwise specified)
The CHS program schedule is listed below. All meetings are on the second Wednesday of the month at the Lucy Bensley Center, unless otherwise noted.
January 13, 7:00 p.m.
Program: “Volunteer Appreciation Night” - At this Annual Meeting 2010 officers will be elected, a time of looking back and ahead for the society, and thanking the society's many volunteers.
February 10, 7:00, p.m.
Program: “Western New York Scenic Byways” - Robert Lennartz will describe this newly created byway which encoumpases East Aurora, Orchard Park, and Springville. The byway's goal is to emphasis Concord's historical interests to tourists and motorists traveling Routes 240 and 391.
March 10, 7:00 p.m.
Program: “Ukrainian Easter Eggs” - A historical view of this Ukrainian tradition and a time to decorate your own egg.
April 11, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
"Warner Museum Open House" - Opening of the museum complex for the 2010 season.
April 14, 7:00 p.m.
Program: "Meet the Author Night" - author Jeff Miller presents his book Game Changers: Greatest Plays in bills Football History. The program will conclude with a book signing. Jeff is a Concord resident.
May 12, 7:00 p.m.
Program: "Dairy Fest Planning/Museum Readiness Night" - A time to get the museum complex ready for Dairy Fest weekend. Workers welcome!
June 4,5,6
Dairy Fest's "The Good Olde Days" - The museum and grounds are open with special activities.
June 6
Program: "Garden Tour" - A visit to Bud Nunweiler's wonderful backyard garden on Mill Street. (Time to be announced)
July - no meeting

"Go to the Erie County Fair" - visit the fair and historical exhibits.
September 8, 7:00 p.m.
Program: "Zoar Valley" - Gowanda historian Phil Palen talks about our rich Zoar Valley.
October 2 or 3
Program: "Cemetery Walk" - cemetery interpreters take us on a tour of the Maplewood Cemetery. New sections will be explored. (Note: This is a tentative program. Watch for time and more details.)
November 10, 7:00 p.m.
Work night: planning and preparing museum complex for Concord Country Christmas.
December 4
Annual cookie sale and Concord Country Christmas celebration. A time to get into the Christmas spirit. |
